📄️ Identify your use case
Our recommendations on how to integrate our API (or not integrating it) change depending on the ways you, your athletes, and your users will use our trackers and the data they generate. Thankfully, most of our users fit within a few categories for which we can provide broad guidance.
📄️ Athlete Management Systems
Athlete Management Systems (AMS) are platforms for managing athletes in a sport team, similar to an ERP in a company. They typically include functionalities such as performance statistics and trends, sport-specific management of practice sessions, and data access control. Applications used for team sports usually fit this category, and our API was designed from the start to support this use case. For this reason, you may find the terms application and AMS used interchangeably throughout this documentation.
📄️ Individual Athletes
Individual Athletes are users who are both device owners (like Managers) and device wearers (like Athletes). This kind of account is suitable for anyone who wants to use their own tracker and analyze their own data, as an individual rather than as the staff member of some organization. It is also suitable for coaches or staff (i.e Managers) who want to try out their devices themselves instead of relying on other athletes to collect data.
📄️ Broadcaster
In the context of this API, we generally refer to broadcasters as API clients that will exclusively use publically available computed data. We are working on improving support and documentation for this particular use case. For more information, please contact us at support-api@insiders.live.
